Recipe for the Lasagna Supreme







Here is a recipe for lasagna supreme, let me confess this to you: it isn't light! The lasagna supreme is to be served on special occasions with the people you love...

Ingredients:

* 1 pound lasagna noodle package
* 1 pound of ground meat (beef, veal or pork)
* 1/2 pound Italian mild sausage
* medium onion, chopped
* 2 cloves garlic
* 3 chopped ripe red tomatoes
* 1 small can tomato paste
* 2 teaspoons of dry crushed basil
* 1 teaspoon of marjoram dries crushed
* 1 can of cut and drained mushrooms, or use fresh ones if you like better
* 2 eggs
* 16 oz. creamy cottage cheese
* 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
* 2 tablespoons parsley
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon black ground pepper
* 2 cups of cheese cheddar grated
* 3 cups grated mozzarella cheese

Instructions

I-We begin the recipe
1. Boil the lasagna following package instructions, for about 8 minutes so they can finish cooking in the oven. Drain the pasta in a strainer, reserve the noodles laying flat on a plate coated with a bit of oil so they don't stick to one another.
2. In a big frying pan, brown the meat, the sausage, breaking all meats with a fork and mixing them together. Mix in the onion and mushrooms and press in the garlic, cook until the meat is golden brown. Discard all the fat.
3. Add the chopped red tomatoes with its juice, the tomato paste, the basil and the marjoram. Reduce the stove to low setting: cover and allow to simmer for 15 min. Stirring once in a while.

II-Assembling the lasagna
4. Pre-heat the oven to 350 ° F
5. In a bowl, beat the eggs: to the eggs add the cottage cheese, 1/2 cup of Parmesan, the parsley, the salt and the pepper. Mix well.
6. In a deep lasagna pan, pour a little bit of meat sauce in the pan and spread evenly; place first layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce; then spread above the noodles half the cottage cheese and eggs mixture, then one more noodle layer followed by half of the meat sauce. Sprinkle overt his half of the cheeses cheddar and mozarella
7. Repeat the layers. Above last layer sprinkle the remaining Parmesan.
8. Bake the lasagna of 40-50 min. Or until it bubbles. Before cutting it, allow the lasagna to rest for 10 minutes so it cools down.  Serve with a nice salad...
Then bring it to your guests... also you can keep the lasagna supreme in the refrigerator for 3-4 days
