The Recipe for Lasagna with Spinach, ham and mushrooms

The delicious taste resulting from combining ham with cheese or mushrooms with cheese is a widely accepted norm; why not use this to our advantage and put all these ingredients in one lasagna, along with some spinach, of course! Here is a recipe that is quick to make for a lasagna, and it also is easy to follow.

Ingredients:

* 1 lb. piece of ham, chopped
* 1 lb. frozen chopped spinach
* 8 oz. ricotta cheese
* 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
* 2 tsp. tablespoon of olive oil
* 1 onion, chopped
* 2 cloves garlic, crushed
* 1 lb. white mushrooms, sliced
* 1 lb. tomatoes
* 5.5 oz. tomato paste (1 small can)
* 2 tablespoon chopped basil
* 1 lb. of lasagna noodles
* 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
* 1 cup half-half cream

Instructions

Prepare the ingredients:

1) Prepare all the ingredients for your Lasagna with Spinach, ham and mushrooms; Thaw the spinach and let drain in a kitchen strainer for at least 30 minutes. Mix cheddar with the ricotta, then in mix the chopped spinach and reserve; this will be our spinach-ricotta mix. Boil the lasagna noodles for about 2/3 of suggested time by package, as they will finish cooking in the oven, and place on a slightly oiled up plate.

Making the tomato sauce:

2) In a skillet, cook the chopped onion and crushed garlic. Add chopped ham and the sliced mushrooms and cook a few minutes.

3) Add the tomatoes, seeded and chopped, and the tomato paste. Simmer 5 minutes, then add chopped basil to the tomato sauce; check seasoning and voilà... the tomato sauce with ham is ready.

Assembling the lasagna

4) To begin, grease the sides and bottom of a deep lasagna dish. Pour a little tomato sauce in the bottom and spread to cover. Place a layer of lasagne on the bottom of tomato sauce.

5) Spread half the spinach mixture over the layer of noodles. Cover again with a layer of lasagna noodles, then some ham mixture. Repeat the same procedure with the remaining ingredients. Pour the cream over the lasagna, then sprinkle evenly with Parmesan cheese.

6) Cover the dish and bake at medium heat setting (350 °F, preheated) for 30 minutes. 10 minutes before the end of baking time, remove the foil.
